How to Import Your Calendar
Google Calendar
- Open calendar.google.com on desktop
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) and select Settings
- In the sidebar, click Import & export
- Click Select file from your computer and choose your .ics file
- Pick a destination calendar and click Import
Note: Import is available only in the desktop browser, not the mobile app.
Apple Calendar (Mac)
- Open the Calendar app
- Choose File > Import from the menu bar
- Select your .ics file and click Import
- Choose a destination calendar from the dropdown and click OK
Tip: You can also drag the .ics file directly into the Calendar app window.
Outlook
- In Outlook, go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export
- Select "Import an iCalendar (.ics) file"
- Browse to your .ics file and click Import
- Choose whether to add to an existing calendar or create new one
Alternative: Drag your .ics file directly onto your calendar (Mac) or double-click the file (Windows).
Frequently Asked Questions
What format is the downloaded file?
The file is an iCalendar (.ics) file, which is a universal calendar format defined by RFC 5545. Every major calendar app—Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and others—can import .ics files.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Download the file on your phone's browser (or email it to yourself), then tap it. Your calendar app will open and ask where to import it. On iPhone, you can also use the Files app to navigate to the .ics file and open it with Calendar.
Will this create duplicates if I import twice?
Yes. Calendar apps do not deduplicate events, so importing the same file twice will create two copies of every event. Search for one event name before re-importing to make sure it does not already exist.
How long do the exported events last?
By default, your schedule repeats every week for 16 weeks (one semester). You can change this number at the top of the page before downloading. The events will appear on your calendar for exactly that many weeks.
Do I need to sign in or create an account?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your data stays on your device and is never sent to a server. Download happens client-side only.
Can I edit the events after importing?
Yes. Once imported, your events appear as regular calendar entries. You can edit, delete, or reschedule them like any other event in your calendar app.
